Another way to purchase health insurance is through your employer. Employers are able to offer group insurance to all of their employees. Individuals are also able to go out to any private insurance company and purchase insurance directly from them.
All insurance policies will come with a premium. A premium is the monthly amount that is paid for your insurance. This rate can be reviewed and renewed each year. Policies will all come with a deductible as well. This is an amount that will need to be paid before the insurance will pay for whatever services or procedures need to be done. The amount of your deductible is determined at the time your policy is written up.
Not all policies and or will over everything. Those things that are not covered are called exclusions. What exclusions you will have in your policy will be determined when you sign up for your policy. Be aware of what your exclusions are so you are not blindsided down the road.
Health insurance is an insurance that you can purchase to help you will the high cost of medical expenses. Even if you are in excellent health, this insurance is a fantastic insurance to have just in case you need it.
